On March 12, 2026, the future felt a little closer. In collaboration with UniPod Malawi, our team headed to Hillview International School for an immersive session focused on the transformative world of Extended Reality (XR).
Our mission wasn't just to show off cool gadgets or high-tech visuals. We went there to spark a mindset shift: moving from being passive consumers of technology to becoming the architects of it.
More Than Just Apps
While many associate XR (Virtual, Augmented, and Mixed Reality) solely with gaming or mobile apps, we shared a much larger vision. We highlighted how XR is set to revolutionize industries like medicine, engineering, and education.
Our core message to the students was simple but bold: Don't just build the apps—build the ecosystem. We encouraged the students at Hillview to:
Explore: Understand the underlying mechanics of immersive tech.
Participate: Engage with the global XR community.
Contribute: Take the leap into both software development and hardware creation.
Empowering the Next Generation
The energy in the room was electric. Seeing young minds grasp the potential of hardware engineering and spatial computing reminds us why we do what we do. Malawi’s tech scene isn’t just growing; it’s evolving, and these students are at the forefront of that change.
"The goal is to move beyond the screen. We want to empower students to create the tools and platforms that will define the next decade of human interaction."
A massive thank you to the staff and students at Hillview International School for the warm welcome and for providing a platform to inspire the next generation of XR innovators. Working alongside UniPod Malawi continues to be an incredible journey as we build a robust local tech foundation.
The future of XR in Malawi is bright, and it’s being built right here, one session at a time.
